Military Career

In 1999, at the age of 17, Sophia Qureshi was commissioned into the Indian Army through the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. She joined the Corps of Signals, a branch responsible for military communications and information systems.

In 2006, she served as a military observer in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where she coordinated with electoral and gender departments during the presidential elections.
