Angelina Jolie Finally Ends Divorce Battle with Brad Pitt After 8 Long Years
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s high-profile divorce has officially been finalized after eight years of back-and-forth legal battles. While this marks the end of a challenging chapter for the actress, it seems there’s still unfinished business between the former couple.
A source close to Jolie revealed, “Angelina is absolutely relieved that the divorce is finally over. It’s been a draining experience, but this is a step forward.” The insider added that Jolie is “exhausted” from the prolonged process, but she’s hopeful that she can focus more on healing her family.
Her attorney, James Simon, shared a statement on December 30, saying, “Angelina left all the shared properties with Mr. Pitt eight years ago. She’s been working toward finding peace for herself and her children since then. This is just one part of a much bigger process.”
However, not everything is wrapped up. Jolie and Pitt are still clashing over ownership of Chateau Miraval, the French winery they co-owned during their marriage.
The Winery Dispute
Pitt sued Jolie in 2022 after she sold her share of the winery to Tenute del Mondo, part of the Stoli Group. He accused her of breaking an agreement to get mutual consent before selling their stakes. Jolie’s side denies there was ever such a deal.
Jolie’s camp claims she tried to sell her share to Pitt directly but was met with an unusual demand. According to her, Pitt wanted her to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement, preventing her from discussing any alleged abuse during their relationship. Pitt denies the abuse allegations.
One of Jolie’s lawyers, Paul Murphy, has argued that Pitt’s actions are an attempt to hide crucial evidence, including alleged communications about abuse and efforts to cover it up. A judge recently ruled that Pitt must hand over some of the requested documents.
On the flip side, Pitt has also gained ground. His legal team successfully argued to keep the case moving forward, and they claim to have evidence of a written agreement that could strengthen his stance.
A Family in the Spotlight
The former couple, once Hollywood’s golden pair, share six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Most of the children are now adults, but their names have often been pulled into the ongoing legal drama.
A source close to Jolie shared that she’s fighting this battle to protect her family and move forward. “She wants peace for herself and the kids,” the source said. “But Brad keeps dragging it out. He could choose to end this and focus on family, but it doesn’t look like he plans to.”
Meanwhile, someone from Pitt’s camp argued that Jolie’s focus on the Miraval case is more personal than professional. “It seems she just wants to hurt Brad, no matter what,” they said.
Looking Ahead
After years of headlines, court dates, and accusations, Jolie is eager to leave the past behind. While the divorce itself is no longer a legal hurdle, the ongoing winery case keeps the tension alive between the exes.
Fans of both stars can only hope the two find a way to resolve their issues, especially for the sake of their family. Until then, it seems like this Hollywood drama has a few more scenes left to play out.
