Avantika Dassani Recounts Her Terrifying Experience with Fake Bomb Threat on Flight
Actor Avantika Dassani recently opened up about the scary situation she found herself in during a flight from Goa to Mumbai. What was supposed to be a simple, quick trip turned into a nightmare after the plane received a fake bomb threat. The incident, which took place on January 13, 2025, ended up causing major delays, leaving her and fellow passengers on edge for hours.
Avantika shared the details of the ordeal, explaining how it all started with what seemed like a regular flight. “Interestingly, it was the pilot’s first flight. So, it started off on a happy note,” she recalls. But things quickly took a strange turn. As the flight was nearing its landing, some of the flight attendants began showing signs of panic. They started checking passengers’ baggage, trying to identify any potential threats. At first, passengers thought it might be due to someone needing their bags, but that assumption quickly faded as the situation unfolded.
As the plane touched down, Avantika and the other passengers noticed something was wrong. The gates of the terminal wouldn’t open. Passengers were kept waiting for over an hour, with no clear explanation. Through the windows, they could see emergency vehicles – police cars, ambulances, and flashing lights – parked outside. The tense atmosphere made everyone wonder what was going on. The pilot then made an announcement, saying there was a “slight safety concern.”
The suspense lasted longer than anyone expected. The passengers were asked to take out all their hand luggage and leave it at a central point. They had to wait yet another hour before they could collect their belongings. To make matters worse, the flight’s terminal was changed while the passengers were still in the air. After landing, security checks continued. The tension was high, and no one knew when it would end.
The chaos didn’t stop there. Once they reached the new terminal, everyone had to go through additional screenings. As if the ordeal wasn’t already intense enough, passengers were asked to undergo handwriting tests. These extra measures were all part of a thorough investigation into the bomb threat. What was supposed to be a 45-minute flight turned into a nearly five-hour ordeal.
Avantika was not the only one affected by the frightening situation. Her mother, actor Bhagyashree, who was also on the flight, was understandably distressed by the events. She was clearly shaken by the experience, and it took a toll on her emotionally. But despite the anxiety and delays, Avantika remained calm throughout the incident.
As for what motivated this fake bomb threat, Avantika admitted that she couldn’t understand what people hoped to achieve by causing such chaos. “I don’t get what people get out of these kinds of actions,” she said. The entire experience left her questioning the mindset of those who choose to spread fear.
The fake bomb threat may have been resolved in the end, but it served as a reminder of how safety and security are taken seriously in the air. Passengers are urged to stay vigilant and follow all safety procedures, but incidents like this also highlight the challenges that come with air travel. Though Avantika’s 2025 got off to a dramatic start, she hopes that future flights will be less eventful and more straightforward.
This unsettling experience is not one Avantika will soon forget, and she will surely think twice the next time she boards a plane. With her calm under pressure and her positive attitude, she made it through the ordeal – but like many others, she’ll probably be hoping for smoother skies ahead.
