R Madhavan Opens Up About the Two Most Horrifying Moments of His Career
R Madhavan has been a favorite face in Indian cinema for years, with roles ranging from charming romantics to complex villains. But even after 25 years in the film industry, the actor admits that some things haven’t gotten easier.
In a recent interview with SCREEN, Madhavan shared a vulnerable side of himself, revealing the two moments he finds most terrifying in his career. He said the first day of shooting and the first day of a film’s release feel like stepping into a storm.
“Every single time, it feels like people are watching and thinking, ‘That’s it, you’ve lost it.’ It’s nerve-wracking,” he admitted, describing the emotional rollercoaster he goes through at the start of any project.
Why Madhavan Finds OTT a Relief
The actor, known for his roles in films like Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein and the recent horror drama Shaitaan, also spoke about how the rise of OTT platforms has been a game-changer for him. Unlike traditional cinema, where box office numbers can make or break a film overnight, OTT offers a less stressful space for creativity.
“I’m so grateful for OTT,” Madhavan said. “It takes away the pressure of a Friday release. You don’t have to sit there biting your nails, wondering how the numbers are coming in.”
Staying Relevant After 25 Years
Surviving in an industry as fast-paced as Bollywood is no small feat, and Madhavan is well aware of it. Reflecting on his journey, he said, “People in this business sometimes fade away in two years. To be doing lead roles even after 25 years is a blessing. It’s not something I take for granted.”
The actor credited his fans for keeping him motivated. He explained, “It’s the support and love I get that keeps me going. Without that, I think I’d be completely lost.”
Flashbacks to Past Struggles
Madhavan also took a moment to remember the tough times he faced early in his career. One of his most iconic films, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, didn’t perform well at the box office initially. “I was heartbroken,” he had said in another interview. “I went to every temple I could think of, hoping for some kind of miracle.”
Looking back now, the film is considered a cult classic, proving that sometimes success takes its own sweet time.
Fans Can’t Wait for Hisaab Barabar
Madhavan’s upcoming project, Hisaab Barabar, is already creating buzz. Fans are eager to see what the actor brings to the table this time. While he didn’t reveal much about the film, he hinted at something unique and exciting in store.
For Madhavan, every new project is a fresh start and a fresh challenge. Whether it’s a big-screen blockbuster or an OTT release, the jitters remain the same. But that nervous energy, he says, is also what keeps him sharp and grounded.
As his fans cheer him on for Hisaab Barabar, Madhavan continues to prove why he’s still one of the most loved actors in the industry. Behind the scenes, though, he’s just another artist working hard, taking deep breaths, and hoping for the best every time the lights dim, and the story begins.
