Swiggy Delivery Agent Steals Cricket Match Tickets, Actor Swastika Mukherjee Calls Them Out
Cricket fever is gripping the nation, but for actor Swastika Mukherjee, this excitement turned into a nightmare. The Paatal Lok actor revealed that a Swiggy Genie delivery agent allegedly stole two tickets for the India vs. England cricket match at Eden Gardens. The incident has left her and her family disappointed, with the actor taking to social media to share her frustration.
Swastika shared the ordeal on Instagram, saying, “Two tickets for today’s India vs England match at Eden Gardens were stolen by a @swiggyindia Genie executive yesterday.” She urged her followers to be cautious, captioning her post, “THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US TODAY, IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU TOMORROW! SHARE THIS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.”
The delivery was supposed to be straightforward—taking the tickets from New Town Action Area 2 to New Town Action Area 1. However, things went awry. The order, placed around 6:30 PM on Tuesday, was marked as delivered at 5:37 AM the following morning, but the tickets never arrived.
A Cricket Fan’s Dream Dashed
According to Swastika, the tickets were for her partner’s father, a huge cricket enthusiast who had traveled all the way from Kanpur just to witness the live match at Eden Gardens. The family’s excitement turned into heartbreak when they realized the tickets were gone.
Swastika explained that the delivery agent blocked her number mid-route and stopped responding to calls. Despite multiple attempts to get help, the tickets couldn’t be retrieved. “The tickets are gone, and I’ve lost all hope of getting them back,” she said.
Adding to her frustration was the lack of support from Swiggy. She questioned why the company hadn’t taken any action even though they had the delivery agent’s details. “Why is Swiggy sitting with tight lips when they have all the details of the thief?” she asked.
Swastika’s Instagram post quickly gained traction, with fans and followers expressing anger and disappointment. Many called for stricter measures against such incidents, while others shared similar experiences with delivery apps.
She ended her post with a strong appeal: “Please help share this so that nobody else has to face this harassment, and people like Shubham [the delivery agent] don’t get away with crimes like this.”
Police and Swiggy’s Response
The actor revealed that even the police couldn’t help her in this situation, leaving her with no choice but to turn to social media for justice. While Swiggy has yet to release an official statement, the incident has sparked a debate on the safety and accountability of delivery services.
The timing couldn’t have been worse, as cricket fans across the country are glued to their screens and stadiums for the high-stakes India vs. England match. For Swastika’s family, though, the excitement was stolen along with the tickets.
This incident raises important questions about trust in delivery services and how companies handle such cases. With Swastika’s post going viral, many are waiting to see if Swiggy will take action or address the concerns of its users.
As of now, the match continues, but for Swastika Mukherjee, the day’s excitement has turned into a bitter memory.
